NEW ORDER ON RENEWAL OF CSD SMART CARD

 

CSD HQ  has issued a letter regarding the renewal of CSD card of retired soldiers and civilian Defence employees serving and  retired.

They say that these categories are required to get their cards renewed every year by presenting themselves personally. However, they say this order is not being followed by the staff responsible for renewal. They renew all the card without checking their authenticity. In this way, they also renew a large number of cards that are note eligible for renewal. CSD HQ wants that this needs to be correct so that the genuine users do not suffer.

It has been ordered by CSD HQ that CSD Smart Card can be renewed at any CSD Canteen in the process given below,

FOR ALL RETIRED SOLDERS 

1. Individuals to come in person to get the card renewed 

2. Copy of latest PPO/Discharge Certificate/ Discharge Book to be submitted to the CSD for checking by the CSD Staff

FOR CIVILE DEFENCE EMPLOYEES SERVING

1. Individual to come in person to get the card renewed 

2. Copy of latest PPO to show that he is getting pension from Defence Estimates to be submitted to the CSD for checking by the CSD Staff.

This is good step to weed out bogus ineligible CSD Smart card. However it may be very uncomfortable for the super senior pensioners having mobility problem to visit the CSD canteen and get their cards renewed. The authorities should think of some alternative for them
